Who are we?

By the Bay is the vision of healthcare veteran, author, speaker, and co-founder of the Survivor’s Network, Jonathan Godfrey. Having worked in the healthcare industry for more than two decades, he has personally seen and experienced much trauma associated with everything from routine life to emergency medical care.

Godfrey is a partner and the Chief Marketing Officer with Protean LLC., a software company, providing intranet, quality assurance (QA), and scheduling for hospital systems and air-medical companies such as the Air Methods Corporation, Petrolium Helicopters Inc (PHI) Air Medical, Yale, Vanderbilt, Airlife Denver, HCA Houston, Airlift Northwest, UCAN, MedStar Health (Washington, DC), and Children’s National Medical Center — to only name some of the most high-profile companies.

Godfrey is also the Chief Operating Officer of LZControl. LZ Control is a web-based and mobile application with a crowd-sourced collection of landing zones across the United States. The FAA has recognized and partnered with LZControl to help collaborate and add cutting-edge capabilities for helicopter safety and access across the nation. No database like this exists in the United States or any other country in the world. LZControl is also building relationships with the drone community and all vertical lift operators to build infrastructure for the rapidly expanding vertical lift community.

After addressing his own behavioral health needs, his passion for helping others expanded into wanting to open a treatment facility for substance use and mental health issues. Godfrey is experienced in both clinical and administrative duties in many healthcare settings, including emergency medicine, and is ready to make this permanent change.

MJ Godfrey, pen-named MJ Brickey, works in entertainment publicity, music, magazines, television, and film. She is ideally suited to help make connections for the establishment and long-term vision of the facility.

MJ Godfrey has been the editor of various news sources, digital publications, and magazines with the nation-wide news service, Community Newspapers Holdings Inc., and TheBayNet.com — the largest news source in southern Maryland.

She is also a National Newspaper Association and Associated Press award-winning writer, a co-author of “Max Impact: A Story of Survival,” she wrote with Jonathan Godfrey.

She spent September of 2019 to October 2020 working with The Hollar Entertainment Company with members of the Johnny Cash family as talent management and as a publicist.

She hosted a live show, “LIVE from The Hollar,” interviewing reality celebrities, singer-songwriters, musicians, authors, and performers during the first stages of the COVID19 pandemic and the subsequent social distancing lockdown.

Lucas Catton is the CEO of Advanced Recovery Resources and serves as a business development consultant for By The Bay, and is also a partner. He has worked in the behavioral health field for 20 years, primarily focused on administrative, public relations, marketing, and strategic growth relationships. He was an executive for one of the largest residential rehabilitation programs in the nation at that time.

He has served as a consultant for dozens of rehabilitation centers across the country, including several startups, and co-founded a thriving outpatient recovery program in the Atlanta, GA area called Centered Recovery Programs. As the Managing Director of Centered Recovery, he helped take it from concept to reality and into seven figures in revenue in less than two years.

His vision also led to the creation of the state’s first online IOP (intensive outpatient program), putting them ahead of the pack more than a year before the rest of the industry was forced to start providing online services through the pandemic.
